Shane Downer is an inspirational, innovative and practical problem solver, and provides leadership for Alchymy.
His extensive experience leading the design, development and implementation of solutions to support change in the public and private sectors, has been gained while working with clients at all stages of development, and ranging in scale from single person operations to national, and multi-national organisations.
To date Shane has influenced the development of thousands of people across Europe, and has been responsible for the human element of change projects valued at over €500 million. In addition he has been instrumental in setting and implementing strategies in many challenging fields.
He has worked with organizations such as Citigroup, various Diners Club franchises, Citioperaciones shared services centres in Barcelona & Madrid, the City of Dublin Vocational Education Committee, Golden Lane Housing, and the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland. Shane also works with a number of small and start-up companies to develop their management and capability, in both the profit and not-for-profit sectors.
Shane has led “Voice” and Evaluation exercises with several non-profit organisations, geared towards informing the strategic overhaul of strategy, organizational structure and capability. Such reviews required provision of comprehensive consultation programmes for staff and stakeholders, and generated surprising insights which in turn informed strategic planning and change implementation
Shane has also lead the successful acquisition of funding for many projects, enabling several new business ventures, and leading established client organisations into new sectors or businesses.
As a volunteer Board Member & Chairman, and as an interim Chief Executive - Shane has lead a voluntary organization through significant change, in preparation for both forthcoming legislation and the accelerated growth of required services.
Shane holds an MBA from Trinity College, Dublin.
